So I just finished my book for June "Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling" by Ross King. I picked up this book earlier this year to brush up on my history during the Renaissance. Not having yet read my other book by Ross King, "Brunelleschi's Dome", I did not know what to expect. I was very surprised to find myself missing the book when I left it at home for a week while I was in Park City. It was fascinating. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Michelangelo should read this book. It is engaging, interesting and well researched. I learned more than I ever had about the world that one of the greatest painters lived in. I was able to uncover connections to other parts of history and gain a greater respect for the work that Michelangelo did. I hope now that I can someday see his masterpiece in person.
Now I just need to figure out what I want to read next from my long list of books.
