The GRE
So for the last little while I have attempted to study for my GRE. I want to go back to grad school starting next fall at the University of Utah. Well I really would love to go to the University of Washington, but considering that is approximately 900 miles away, the University of Utah is my choice. They have a good history program, and are relatively inexpensive as far as grad schools go. I have a few items of business to take care of before I apply to school, and the first one is to take my GRE. I kind of feel that the GRE is one of those tests that you can not really study for. Who knows what will be on the test. Who knows what totally complicated math problems they will give you. I just figure that I know enough of the vocabulary. All I really need to do is memorize all the math formulas. I discovered again that math and I are not friends. I can do algebra but when it comes to quali whatsit comparison questions, I am lost. Totally labyrinth lost. I just hope that this history department looks at my verbal scores, not my math scores. And to answer the question of my students "When am I ever going to need this math anyway" I might just now answer, "When you take the GRE".
