The Aptly Titled Song

I have been cycling through three songs quite frequently the past few weeks. Well if you know me there are more than three songs on my play list at any given time, many more but these three I have been coming back to consistently for a few weeks. Now they all have something in common. Their titles all have some meaning in my life right now. Let me start with the first song

Momentary Thing by Something Happens. This song first shot onto my radar with a wonderful episode of Veronica Mars. Yes you can laugh, but I love the show. A mixture of Nancy Drew meets High School meets sass. The Nancy Drew aspect is the one I like the most, well also all the talk of getting a pony someday (not that I really want a pony, its just funny!). But back to the song. Times are tough, times sometimes suck but as this song reminds me . . . it is just a momentary thing and after some time things will be better.

"After all, well isn't this just a momentary thing?
It's not like I expected it,
Or any heavy thing

Shook me up I guess, I guess, I guess..
Stirring me up yes, yes, yes..
It's at the point of breaking down,
Cause there's nothing left to say.

Cause we'll get along..
Yeah.
We'll get along.
Oh yeah.
After so long"

Next is The Mission by Ennio Morricone. It is from the movie "The Mission." Which if you have never seen is very good for history buffs. This song has no lyrics but hey don't we all have a mission. Look at James Bond, Chuck Bartowski, Michael Bluth, Veronica Mars, Jack Bauer. Come on look at what happens to them, they go through hard times but in the end doesn't it all work out until the next adventure.

Song three is Heartbeats by Jose Gonzalez. I heard this one while watching an episode of Bones. What can I say about this one. Amazing, touching, wonderful, beautiful, soul invading. . . Listen to your heartbeat sometime. What does it remind you of? What can you see and hear when you listen? I hear life, love, happiness and fear, joy, pain, good, bad, weaknesses, strengths.

"one night to be confused
one night to speed up truth
we had a promise made

to know what to say
mind is a razor blade

to call for hands above
to lean on

one night to push and scream
and then relief"
